P.S. 118 Annual Fund (2021 – 2022 Direct Appeal)
Like many public schools, P.S. 118 relies on families and friends to supplement federal, state, and city funding. Our Annual Fund is P.S. 118’s biggest fundraiser. It makes it possible for the school to provide arts enrichment, additional staff in classrooms, teacher training, and other enhancements to our children’s education that help make P.S. 118 one of the best elementary schools in Brooklyn.
Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, your generosity has allowed us to provide critical health and safety enhancements, including new thermometers and medical-grade air-filtration systems in every classroom. We’ve also invested in technology, providing online access for all students to the math enrichment program Zearn and ordering new document-mirror cameras to help with remote learning.
Just this fall, PTA funding has been vital to bringing back the popular arts program Studio in a School and purchasing new instruments for music enrichment. We have further committed up to $10,000 for teacher support, helping to cover the cost of field trips and essential classroom supplies.
After speaking with Principal Garraway about her plans for next fall, we want to ensure that our school is fully funded moving forward, with all the important programs that our children have enjoyed in the past.

2. DOUBLE YOUR DONATION WITH CORPORATE MATCHING FUNDS
65% of companies match donations made by their employees! It’s as easy as checking with your company’s Human Resources department. Usually they’ll ask you and the 501(c)3 organization of your choice (hopefully that’s us) to fill out a form and then voila, FREE MONEY. Here’s something to make it even easier. We’ll make the call for you to HR. Just send us your employer info (nothing confidential required) and we’ll do the leg work to find out the company policy on personal donations and how to secure them! 3. MAKE A PLEDGE – in person or by mail
Do you kick it old school? We do too! You can make checks out to PS 118 PTA and drop it in the mail (211 8th St, Brooklyn, NY 11217), in the PTA mailbox in the main office or hand it to anyone on the Executive Board. 4. BECOME A MONTHLY DONOR – online at PayPal subscribe
You can donate directly to us at PayPal. If you donate as friend-to-friend, NO FEES are applied. If you donate to the PTA as an non-profit organization, payPal will apply 2.2% of the total plus $.30 to the transaction.
